Regarding my deployment to Haiti

Archbishop Kyrill, siting concern for my safety, and the well being of my monastery, should anything happen to it's abbot, has rescinded his blessing for me to go to Haiti, at this time. As a monk, I must take my archbishop's direction, in obedience, and as God's will for me.

  1. Thank you for showing us that obedience and the way of holiness go together, Abbot Tryphon.

  2. I have been thinking about this since I read it. As disappointing as I know this decision is for you, I can't help but be thankful on behalf of the law-enforcement community you serve. None of us knows how long we have on this earth, but spiritually, at least, the law-enforcement community NEEDS you -- you're one of the few clergy who actually cares about them *and* understands their spiritual needs.
