    Thank you for this Your Holiness Abbot Tryphon.

    The Prophet Mohammed's promise of religious tolerance to Christians living under his jurisdiction may or may not have been a ruse. The Lord alone can be the judge of that, though, I am certain that we are being called to pray for peace amongst all people of goodwill.

    In my opinion, the centrepiece of the CBS reporatge which was most interesting was the quote by His All Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew, that "after the Crucifixion comes the Resurrection". This indeed is the Christian mission to all mankind and Holy Orthodoxy has been the living flame of truth for nearly 1,700 years.

    I remain hopeful that Turkey's wish to join the EU will be fulfilled in the medium term. Resistance to this idea has increased in the central European powers in recent years.

    We pray that our Lord will open hearts everywhere.
